Frequently asked questions
Common questions about calculation methods, validation, data, and accounts. If you cannot find an answer, write to support@suhul.us.
Calculation and validation
Are the calculation results reliable?
The calculation core derives from Taiwan New RC high-strength reinforced concrete research and has been verified by professors. The cloud version is compared point by point with the actual output of the original research program and verified continuously with independent benchmark solutions and code hand calculation examples; see the validation report. Results are still for professional interpretation, and design and certification remain the responsibility of the licensed engineer.
How does it differ from the original New RC research program?
The mechanical models are consistent with the original, so results can be compared point by point; the cloud version improves calculation precision and speed and adds a continuous demand/capacity ratio check. For an overview see Technology.
Which codes does it follow?
Column and wall strength follows New RC high-strength reinforced concrete research and current concrete codes; retaining walls follow the 2023 (ROC 112) edition of the Design Specifications for Foundations of Buildings and the Taiwan Design Specifications for Concrete Structures of Buildings. The provisions and parameters applied are listed in the calculation report.
Can I import existing data?
Yes. You can open txt input files from the original research program, and paste loads directly from an Excel or ETABS Column Forces table.
What units are used?
Inputs use common engineering units such as kgf/cm², cm, and tf (with MPa conversion), and outputs can be switched between tf·m and kN·m.
Usage and data
Do I need to install software?
No. Open a browser and use it; it works on laptops and tablets.
Where is my data stored?
Section inputs and preferences are stored in your own browser; project files are downloaded and kept by you, or shared by link. During calculation the inputs are sent to the server and the results are returned.
Can the calculation report be used in submittals?
The report lists the design basis, inputs, curves, check tables, and the calculation core version, and can be printed or saved as a PDF. Whether to adopt it and certify it is for the licensed engineer to judge and take responsibility for.
Which languages are supported?
The interface and reports are available in Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean.
Can schools or research institutions use it?
Yes. For teaching, research, or team adoption, write to support@suhul.us.
